I’ve spent my entire life sitting in what I call The Waiting Room, the place where I’ve waited and waited and waited and waited for my father to become my daddy — to give me my identity, invest his time in me, tell me that I’m beautiful, that he’s proud of me, and that he loves me. Although my father was home every night, he didn’t make any effort to socialize with me. It left me wondering: If he isn’t interested, why would anyone, including God the Father, ever be interested in me? The truth is, God is not only interested in me (and you), he loves us! Our earthly fathers make mistakes, but our Heavenly Father doesn’t. We are created in God’s image. God has a plan for us, but it’s up to us to ask him what it is. Want to know God’s plan for you? Ask Him. He’s waiting to hear you’re interested.
